Ministry of Foreign Affairs Summons Ambassador of India
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the public that on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, His Excellency Manoj Bihari Verma, Ambassador of India to Liberia, was summoned to provide information regarding the tragic death of Mr. Sam Paor Juday.
Mr. Juday, a Liberian citizen, was pursuing his studies at Kalinga University in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Reports indicate that he passed away on December 22, 2025. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear and are yet to be fully established by the relevant authorities in India.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the incident and requested that the Government of India ensure a thorough investigation into the matter. The Ministry specifically called for an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death and to provide clarity to the family and the Liberian people.
Ambassador Verma conveyed condolences on behalf of the Government of India to the Government and people of Liberia for the loss of Mr. Juday.
