President Boakai Extols the United States on Its 250th Independence Anniversary
The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of the United States of America on the occasion of the country's 250th Independence Anniversary, commemorated on July 4, 2026.
In his message addressed to the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, President Boakai, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, as well as in his own name, extended heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes to the Government and people of the United States as they celebrate this historic milestone.
According to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Boakai recalled the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation that have existed between Liberia and the United States. He expressed confidence that, as the United States marks another significant milestone in its national history, the enduring relationship between the two countries and their peoples will continue to grow stronger.
Furthermore, President Boakai emphasized that, as Liberia's closest traditional bilateral partner, the United States remains central to Liberia's foreign policy. He reaffirmed Liberia's commitment to supporting U.S. foreign policy objectives, particularly in the areas of democratization and security, while strengthening U.S.-Liberia trade and economic diplomacy amid evolving geopolitical realities across the African continent.
The President further noted that Liberia remains committed to engaging constructively with the United States to deepen and expand the existing bilateral partnership for the mutual benefit of both nations.
In concluding his message, President Boakai prayed that President Trump would be blessed with wisdom, good health, and happiness as he continues to lead the people of the United States toward a future of peace and prosperity.
