In a heartfelt and dignified ceremony held at the C. Cecil Dennis Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday May 21, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, honoured a distinguished group of retirees in recognition of their years of exceptional service to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event brought together ministry officials, employees, and special guests to pay tribute to the outstanding contributions of the retirees who have served with dedication, commitment, and integrity. During the Honouring program, Foreign Minister Nyanti presented certificates of appreciation to each retiree, expressing profound gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Liberia. The ceremony was a testament to the value the Ministry places on the sacrifices and hard work of its long-serving employees. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would not be what it is today without the immense contributions of our retired colleagues,” Foreign Minister Nyanti stated. “Your dedication has laid a strong foundation upon which we continue to build. Your legacy is deeply etched in the records and history of this institution.”

The Dean of the Cabinet emphasized that retirement does not mark the end of the retirees’ relevance to national service. She pledged to engage them when necessary to benefit from their wealth of experience and institutional memory. “Your services will always be appreciated,” she added. “You are national role models whose lives and careers will inspire not just our current employees, but also the youth and future generations of Liberians.” The retirees, in turn, expressed their appreciation to Foreign Minister Nyanti and the Ministry for the recognition. Many shared fond memories of their time in service and voiced their continued willingness to support the Ministry in any capacity possible.

One of the 58 honorees, Mr. Abenego G. Tarr remarked, “This honour means a great deal to us. We are thankful for the opportunity to have served and are proud of the progress the Ministry has made over the years.” The atmosphere at the event was filled with gratitude and admiration, as colleagues and guests celebrated the achievements of the retirees with applause, smiles, and heartfelt words.
