Liberia’s Foreign Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan and Chinese Ambassador accredited to Liberia His Excellency Zhao Jianhua will sign the agreement for the construction of a multimillion dollar Ministerial Complex on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11 AM in the C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Capitol Hill.
The complex will be the second building to be constructed with China’s gratuitous technical assistance in Africa after the African Union (AU) Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The cost will be paid out of China’s assistance under the Economic and Technical Corporation Agreement signed between the Chinese and Liberian Governments on September 27, 2011 and January 17, 2012 respectively.
According to the Agreements, the Liberian Government is required to provide land for said project while the Chinese side will assume responsibility for the construction of the Ministerial Complex.
The signing ceremony is expected to be attended by several high ranking government officials including Cabinet Ministers and Heads of Public Corporations among others.
