One of Liberia’s Outstanding Career Diplomats and Foreign Service Officers, His Excellency, Ambassador Charles Ansumana Cooper is dead. He died on June 5, 2009 in Maryland, the United States of America.
The fallen Liberian diplomat served the Ministry of Foreign and the Government and People of Liberia with distinction in several positions, including the Ambassador of Liberia accredited to Japan. He also served as Research Officer, Director and Assistant Minister of African and Asian Affairs, among others.
By the demise of Ambassador Cooper, the Government of Liberia has lost a Statesman, and a Career Diplomat and Foreign Service Officer. He was indeed a patriot and dedicated public servant.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its profound regrets and deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty God will grant them solace during this time of sorrow.
