Foreign Minister King Akerele in Europe for official visits to Belgium and Iceland

Monrovia: March 6, 2008; The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Madam Olubanke king- Akerele, left the country yesterday for Belgium and Iceland on official assignment.

In Belgium, foreign Minister King-Akerele would be representing Liberia at an International Conference for Woman Political Leaders due to convene today March 6, in Brussels, the Belgium Capital, under the theme “Women Stabilizing an Insecure World”. In Iceland, the Liberian Foreign Minister will be representing the President of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, at a UNIFEM fund-raising event slated for Saturday, March 8, 2008.

While Foreign Minister King-Akerele is away, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador William V.S. Bull, will act as Foreign Minister pending Madam King-Akerele’s return.
